Very good recording which I did not alter much.
I did enhance the bass and cut out some of the dead space where cuts in songs were. You would send off an SASE and get a list back in the mail, then choose the shows you wanted. I don't remember ever paying money for them, other than covering tape and postage costs - I assume it was fans who were trading mostly and also sharing with the likes of me, who had nothing to trade. I was looking for Gates but was bummed when I heard how chopped up the beginning was. I honestly listened to it once and never went back to it - I hate incomplete/cut songs. Over time, I forgot I even had this tape and it sat for a long time without being played. I guess I preseved it and stored it well.

The distortion at times could be from my tape being recorded too hot or maybe from the master. But it's on the tape and didn't happen during the transfer. It almost sounds mono to me, which I find strange. Also very sibilant at times.
There should be about 4db of headroom to work with and I didn't put any track markers in. Track list: Firebird Sound Chaser Close (cut near end) To Be Over Gates (a real mess at the beginning, missing a verse - a patch would be nice!) And You And I Ritual (beginning only, fades out) There is no mention of the location in Jon's between song talking. There must have been a crowd issue: after Sound Chaser, he spends some time asking the people in the middle to move back to make more room for the people in front. 1.01 Sound Chaser (10.05) 1.02 Close To The Edge (19.55) 1.03 To Be Over (9.18) 1.04 The Gates Of Delirium (22.28) 1.05 And You And I (10.17) 2.01 Ritual (24.11) 2.02 Roundabout (8.22) 2.03 Siberian Khatru (10.17) Yes Jai Alai Fronton (or The Sportatorium) Miami, FL 1974-11-28 TheTooleMan edition, 2008 This recording is most notable for being the only capture of Yes playing 'Siberian Khatru' on the 1974 Relayer tour. It's Patrick Moraz's first outing with the song, as far as I know, and he doesn't fuck it up too badly.
This torrent is a combination of two copies of the show from my collection. One is Highland's 'Full of Nightmarish.' The other copy is a set of SHN files of just the five tracks on disk one. The SHN files sound better than the two-disk audio set, which is recorded too loud and has a very dull sounding right channel. Sound quality is definitely in the 'OK' category, with a lot muddy bass. Most of the chatter by Jon was cut either during the taping or in the process of copying it for trading.
I don't think any of the music is cut, though. I didn't do any EQ work on the sound, but leveled out the volume between the left and right tracks and between the two sources so you can listen to the whole thing without destroying your speakers. So it's not what I'd call a 'remaster,' just a 'tweaking.' I had a seat to this show in the nose-bleed section on the far right of the stage, an awful position.
I opted to take my chances and find an empty seat at least in front of the stage, maybe on the first tier risers. Using my cheapo mono cassette recorder I recorded the whole show. The sound is about C quality, but the crowd noise is not even noticable; then again neither are the acoustics! As you will hear during the quiet moments of Soundchaser I got busted for sitting in someone else's seat and I try to worm my way out of it ( I had a ticket, but just not for that seat). I had to abandon the seat, but it was on the aisle so I sat in the aisle next to the seat after the usher left (what were those people thinking about arriving late for a Yes concert anyway?). The usher never came back, thank goodness.

Fort Worth occurs just about a month into the tour and is a very good to excellent sounding tape recording. The taper unfortunately seems to have arrived late that night to the Convention center since the Firebird suite, “Sound Chaser” and the first ten minutes of “Close To The Edge” are missing.

This is overall a solid early release on Highland with the only flaw being, after “The Gates Of Delirium” a snippet of Led Zeppelin concert is audible. It doesn’t interfere with the Yes concert but it is a strange mastering fault with occurs on some Highland titles (the same thing can be found on Genesis White Mountain Side).
This tour was a way for Yes to not only break in the new material live, but also to play live with new keyboardist Patrick Moraz. Not only was his style and musical taste fundamentally different than either Tony Kaye or Rick Wakeman, but Moraz’ used some very different keyboards. He got his equipment from its developers which were still at that time in prototype stage. The Vako Orchestron, for example, which was used for the string sounds throughout the album in general and which was used for the sound effects in the instrumental middle of “The Gates Of Delirium.” This was the instrument used to produce the whooping and sneezing sounds (”electric slinky”) which suggests the sounds of people being torched alive about midway through the track. It would be Moraz’ interpretation, not only of the new songs but also of the older material that would determine their success as a live band.
His influence can be heard on “Close To The Edge” on this recording where, while he duplicates much of Wakeman’s parts adds his own coloring throughout. Jon Anderson addresses the audience afterwards, promoting the new album saying: “I’d like to thank you all for coming along tonight. Hope you have a good time. I’d like to play for you now, I’d like to play some new music to you from our new album which is called Relayer. I think it’s in the shops. This weekend it’s in the shops and the first song that we played is from the album that was called ‘Sound Chaser.’ And the song you’re going to hear now is also from the album. It’s called ‘To Be Over.’ I hope you like it.” This is the first song from the album to be dropped from the set which unfortunate since almost every live version of the piece sounds simply gorgeous.
“The Gates Of Delirium” is the second epic played in the set and is again perfect and very dramatic in the recording. Before “Ritual” Anderson says, “I hope you enjoyed the new music. I’d like to say thank you very much for coming along tonight. Here’s a song from Tales From Topographic Oceans. Like to play for you side four.
‘Ritual.’” The track is very long with references to sides one and two from the album. The drum solo sounds very heavy on this recording and Moraz’ Vako Orchestron is put to good use in the ritual of life section on the middle. The “Nouse Sommes Du Soleil” finale is a fitting end to the show and “Roundabout” is the only encore captured on the tape.
Overall The Remembering is a very good release but, with more complete and better sounding tapes in circulation, is not essential. 1.01 Firebird Suite (2.52) 1.02 Sound Chaser (9.47) 1.03 Close To The Edge (20.44) 1.04 To Be Over (9.16) 1.05 The Gates Of Delirium (22.51) 1.06 And You And I (10.30) 2.01 Ritual (27.53) 2.02 Roundabout (11.13) 2.03 South Side Of The Sky (cut) (4.28) My friend taped this (same guy who taped Memphis, Mar 10, 1974 show). I have tweaked the sound some to make it a tad clearer. The sound is slightly distorted in spots; its not the cleanest recording, but because it has South Side of the Sky it is a rarity.
I believe my friend told me he was sitting in the nose bleed section. This show has circulated around since the late 80's on tape amongst Yes traders so I guess its not all that rare any more. In any case I had a request for it so here it is from the master tapes. This is classic Yes, with many of the band’s cornerstone songs performed in this show, first heard 34 years ago.
'Close To The Edge,' 'Soon,” 'And You And I,” and 'Roundabout” are clearly the highlights and are placed at key points during the show, around less well-known tracks, such as 'The Gates of Delirium.” Yes, one of the most successful of all the progressive rock bands to come out of the UK, is featured here in their 1974-1976 incarnation, with Patrick Moraz on keyboards during Rick Wakeman's 'sabbatical.' It was 1974 and the band was at its commercial peak with albums like Fragile and Close To The Edge dominating the charts both here and in Europe.
As with their contemporaries ELP and King Crimson, Yes had taken the musicality of prog-rock and brought it to the masses. In retrospect, the prog movement of the ’70s was the fore-runner to the popular 'jam band” movement of the late-’90s and early-’00s.
Vocalist Jon Anderson is in fine form and was probably at the peak of his vocal prowess when this performance was recorded for the King Biscuit Flower Hour in 1974. This line-up of the band, which featured original members Anderson and bassist Chris Squire, as well as guitarist Steve Howe, drummer Alan White, and keyboardist Moraz remained intact until Wakeman returned to replace Moraz in 1976. The Close To The Edge-era line-up reformed in the late-’90s and has toured on-and-off since then. They are currently planning a North America tour for summer 2008, which would have the distinction of celebrating the band’s 40th Anniversary.

'Yes we'll still need him, Yes we'll still feed him When He's Sixty-Four.' (with apologies to Lennon & McCartney) Lineage: King Biscuit Flour Hour pre-broadcast tape - CD audio - SHN - TheTooleMan (Sony Vegas and Sound Forge) - Sony DVD Architect - YOU This DVD makes history. For the first time ever, you can hear this program faithfully reproduced in its original quadraphonic mix using the widely-accepted Dolby Digital 5.1 format. The King Biscuit Flour Hour series of 1975 was presented in 'compatible stereophonic and SQ-Matrix quadraphonic sound.” But few people owned receivers which would allow them to enjoy the quadraphonic audio experience.
And since SQ never gained wide commercial acceptance, it was discontinued after a short while. This SQ-encoded recording of Yes was decoded in June, 2008 by TheTooleMan after extensive research into various decoding techniques. It was then re-encoded in Dolby Digital 5.1 for playback on home theater systems. Since the SQ format does not include a center channel mix, the center channel is silent in the surround mix.
Bass frequencies below 118 Hz were directed to the LFE (subwoofer) channel for the Dolby mix. A lossless stereo LPCM version of the decoded front channel audio is also included.
The DVD will play like any NTSC DVD on your DVD player. It is authored to allow selection of either the Dolby Digital 5.1 quadraphonic audio or the LPCM stereo audio track. You may require special cables and other hardware to reveal the full quadraphonic effect. Note that SQ-encoded quadraphonic did not provide much separation between the front and rear channels, so panning between front and rear and isolation of instruments in the rear channels is not very dramatic.
The original Yes King Biscuit Flour Hour program included the opening set by Gryphon. That performance is not included on the DVD. The sequence of the Yes setlist for the 1974 Relayer tour was altered by King Biscuit to better accommodate their commercial schedule. 'Close to the Edge' was played before 'To Be Over' during live shows, but in the broadcast the order of the two songs was reversed. The two tracks have been restored to their correct order on this DVD. 'Ritual' was also played live during the 1974 Relayer tour. It was performed on the night this show was recorded, but a King Biscuit recording has never been released to the public Yet.

Yes 1975-06-23 Long Beach, CA 30th Anniversary Remaster Mike Millard recorded both the Los Angeles Forum (1975-06-21) and Long Beach Yes shows of 1975. For audio quality, this is the better of the two. The audio is much better to the two 1974 Tales shows, probably due to an upgrade of gear. You might think this was a soundboard recording, if you didn't know better. As for the performance, Yes is hot, but there are some crackles and Jon's voice is kind of ragged, as if the smog in Southern California was getting to him.
Art is not included with the torrent but I'm sure there is some floating around, and hopefully some friends will post theirs. Yes - Seattle Center Coliseum - June 28, 1975 (2cd) 1st gen tape (possibly)cd-rBias Peak Pro 5.2.1XACTflac The 1st gen is not entirely clear, as this show was stated (by it`s original seeder) to be from July 23, 1976, it is ofcourse the June 28, 1975 show, so it could also very well be that the 1st gen info is incorrect, but i can`t be certain of this. The original seeder was told in a trade that it was 1st gen! This was seeded before, either on Dime (almost sure it was), TDD or Zomb. Wherever it was, i have no idea who seeded it, and the name was not stated in the included info file. So whoever it was and wherever it was, thank you very much for a great show! All credit goes out to you (and the taper too)!
I only had this burned to cd-r (later i backed-up everything on dvd-r in it`s originally torrented form), so this i ripped from these cd-r`s (the eac info is included), just so you know about it. Because of my rip, the following is included: EAC logs, MD5 Checksums (for both discs), Cover Art and an Mp3 check/test log included. All were done and made using Traders Little Helper. These discs were ripped to WAVE using Exact Audio Copy and converted to FLAC using TLH. Lineup: Jon Anderson (Vocals) Steve Howe (Guitars) Patrick Moraz (Keyboards) Chris Squire (Bass) Alan White (Drums) CD1: 1.01 Firebird Suite Sound Chaser (12.57) 1.02 Close To The Edge (20.32) 1.03 To Be Over (9.55) 1.04 The Gates Of Delirium (23.02) CD2: 2.01 I've Seen All Good People (Acoustic part only) (2.28) 2.02 Mood For A Day (2.53) 2.03 Long Distance Runaround (Acoustic) Patrick Moraz Solo (6.44) 2.04 The Clap (3.41) 2.05 And You And I (10.11) Total playing time (in WinAmp) is: 1 hour 32 minutes 43 seconds.
Tracks played but missing from this recording are: Ritual, Roundabout & Sweet Dreams. (If someone has these or even one of these, then please be so kind and share them with us, then we would have a complete or almost complete show to treasure). Re-seeded by Gromek on Dime on Thanks again to the original seeder and taper, whoever you are, you cannot be thanked enough!
Ps: I was told (today) by fellow Dime member Markie that is was posted on Dime on March 16, 2007 by Mesquite. I`m not entirely sure if i got it there, but if so, then thanks much Mesquite! Markie also sent me some cover art done by Nibelungen66, so they are also included. 1.01 Firebird Suite (2.28) 1.02 Sound Chaser (11.06) 1.03 Close To The Edge (21.02) 1.04 To Be Over (9.03) 1.05 The Gates Of Delirium (23.05) 2.01 Your Move (2.28) 2.02 Mood For A Day (3.02) 2.03 Long Distance Runaround (1.48) 2.04 Moraz solo (4.25) 2.05 The Clap (3.45) 2.06 Ritual (27.30) 2.07 Roundabout (8.41) 2.08 Don't Be Cruel (Yes's tribute to Elvis) (1.34) 2.09 Sweet Dreams (6.28) Over the years a friend of mine recorded a lot of Yes shows. While not a trader, he offered his tapes to me to put to CD and now I present them to you. This is a nice show featuring the lineup with the then new keyboardist Patrick Moraz.

These were recorded in November of 1975 and broadcast on WMMR in March of 1976. Ed Sciaky conducts the interviews. Steve's segment, in particular, is quite interesting.
I think the last segment is incomplete, but can't really tell. All officially released music tracks have been removed as usual. One interesting note is that during Steve's segment Ed Sciaky pulls out an earlier interview segment with Jon Anderson and Steve performing parts of what they called, at the time, 'High Vibrations'. Of course it is Awaken, but its interesting to hear the very early stages on the song from 1975.
